Trends and styles and fashions and…
Helll0o0o and welcome to another rambling mess of thought structures from the sbh (sub) conscious…
This week it’s ideas around trends and styles, while looking though the images that I’ve captured over the last nnfhmffmhh years, I noticed that around 2000/2002 there was a massive craze for flashing the photographer…
Mainly women girls and it was exposing either ends of flesh…covered…uncovered whatever they fancied…
Was this at the height of the ladette craze? What a horrible name that was, it mainly took shape by moving all the horrible things from male culture and transferred them to female culture… it was slightly cohesive and bordering on manipulation and a gateway to abuse…
Only realise that now when looking back with a few more brains than I had then..
Did it come from anywhere else??
It is funny things said that crop up no rhyme nor reason but I do remember that one time I got asked how I got people to pose like that….
!??!?!?
My answer was that I didn’t ask them !!! I just reacted to what they did..
Then I realised that they thought that I went round asking girls to flash me?
FFS..
I thought of myself as a serious image maker of frivolity and fun?? Navigating the party scene with a camera for ballast and a sense of right and wrong..
So, what the hell did you take me for????
Nevermind don’t answer that..
Anyway, think it couples up with another item from the archive of around that time and that was the massive trend of school disco nights where everyone dressed as if they wore a uniform to school…fyi could never wear mine as my uniform for school had arrows on it..
What was that about?
Now I think we can all agree that dressing like that is more than a bit wrong for all that it signifies, don’t you agree?
Not sure that it’s a yes/no…Thinking back I suppose you can link into a lot of older sexuality was shaped by the St Trinians movies which when I was young, they played on TV on a Saturday morning??WTF??
Anyway, for obvious reason of consent and causing any embarrassment I can’t post any of those images, so I’ve cropped into the hand gesture which was always one of the more interesting things about the image…
A section of 6 cropped images of hands that are exposing various areas of flesh on bodies.
