Summer/Birthday/retirement
So the other week was a little celebration week and with considerable effort me and moschinion went out as proper punters!!!
Now because of the pandemic, retirement and other such things I’ve not been out as a clubber for years…but as this was a special one thought I would grace the scene with my presence which it looks like may be for the final time…
It was a night, after celebrating quite liberally for most of the afternoon, it was home for a disco nap then back out but boy was that an effort !!
I wanted to see the weekend of celebrating ones birth in a club so it gave me added strength to tackle this mahomouth task !! Even had a special Vetements t shirt lined up for it, part princess, part $%^& your toxic masculinity and all sbh…
I had the best time, not danced like that for an age and probably won’t ever again…me really dancing, chatting, remembering what clubs are great for, making images, taxis, sweaty hair, singing, shenanigans, streets at night, cobbles and heels, security, bar people, barman, remembering…ah how lovely
One of the things somebody said to me was ‘you picked a quiet one”
That got me thinking about quiet nights and how I actually secretly enjoyed them, not too quiet mind as approaching people to make images when it’s really quiet was a horrible experience and needed all my joviality to get me through…
Anyway this one was great, it was a monumental effort, and I did find it funny that at somepoints we had an exclusion (revulsion) ring around established by the young uns as they looked at these two oldies with suspicion, possible revulsion and steered a wide course away form any interactions.
It did make me realise one thing, I have now officially retired,
They would treat me differently with a camera but if that’s what I can see in their faces now then I’m not sure I want to hide behind the camera and make images. It’s been a long time cumming but here it is the official date of my retirement…
Mark today’s date as that.
