Quite sad to hear that South is closing.

I realise that as I’m about to say this classic line (that always used to rile me up years ago when places like the music box closed), and that is:

“…well I’ve not been in years etc”

That’s mainly cause I’ve retired and I’m not 100% sure it was a place for the over 50s although thinking back there was a few in there that…

Anyways I’ll reminisce about when I did go, mainly for work reasons, I did love it when it popped up on my radar to go in. It was always a mad for it crowd and a cold RedStripe, (not had one in years which tells you the places I’m hanging out in!)

That’s not to say that there weren’t some dodgy times in there and it did host some wrong ‘uns but then what’s a club without at least some of that. The original basement club after the Hac, during One Central St and before Mint Lounge if you need to place basement clubs in Manc during the sbh era

You will be missed on the scene and hopefully you’ll return in some guise, in the meantime had a look around and found these beauties from then..
