Clubbing in a time of Covid..

I see that clubbing has hit the headlines just recently with the ideas of vaccine passports, covid tests proof of negative covid results etc required to gain access..

My thought on this is, well why not? It sounds like a good plan but let it come from the venues not from the Government as they seem determined to break down the night-time economy of all the cities, so it sort of begs the question

Why does the government hate clubbing?

I suppose it stems from what clubbing is would you say?

A sort of semi religious praising of debauchery involving blessed alcohol and people?

A joyous moment away from the grind of life, where you meet like-minded people, form lifelong friendships?

A place where you make plans for the future while forgetting all about the present?

The forming of memories from the clubs you went to and the experiences you had?

A place where you could escape in semi freedom from prying eyes, as most are away by that time?

Ha, ha on that last point !! Isn’t that the whole point of this blog is about, shining a light on that inner sanctum!!

Hadn’t thought of that! My camera as a gateway to the sanctum!

This week’s image is one from the not-too-distant archive as I see that Ultimate Power is mentioned in one of the articles about covid tests required to get in, I had the great pleasure of photographing at the event for a number of years from the Roadhouse to the Ruby Lounge to the Ritz, used to be quite the blast had lots of fun there if I remember correctly, shout out to all the people involved with it, hope tonight goes smoothly and all is well.
