RoboDisco at Sankeys clubnight remember this being one of the coolest places but yet again I was late to the game before they let me in…remember the cd was amazing and played quite a lot in the car/home/office.

A dancer in a club puts her arm above her head and looks away from camera, in the background a dj plays some records all in a northern club in Manchester called Sankeys Soap.

I remember making this image and at the time I loved it, it was put in my portfolio and showed around but looking at this image now with my current eyes and I see something different, something sadder, I seem to remember asking permission and the amount of shots as I’ve got of that moment would suggest I did, they’re on negatives so no date stamp but they look like there was some agreement to the image.

But here I am looking at it for the moment it represents and what it was to me and perhaps its more representative that I thought? It’s the right combo of technical, place, branding and subject matter that appealed to everyone back then, now I’m not sure of the market so I’m not sure it appeals.

I wonder about consent and how I can get this image out to that person, think the best way is through this page, so if anyone knows who it is then can you connect us? I would love to have a conversation about the image.
