stock question

It’s a slide vs print debate…

Hiya, how u doin? Good/Bad??

For this week’s garrulous scrawl thought I’d carry on from an idea that last week threw up, which was about the use of slide versus print film…of course I’m referencing to back in the day. Although in saying that I’ve noticed a huge rise in adverts and presumably usage in print film, from people shooting film for the last 4(!) years advertising a barned new film cameras to the fanfare that surrounds a new Kodak batch being sort/found!

Is the capitalist consumption machine turning back to the ecological nightmare of film becoming popular again?

“Must stop the rants…”

Thinking back to the stressful days of film, the equal measure of stress and time seemed a lot more of both, had you got it, did it matter, club on a Saturday night meant developing on a Sunday/Monday, depending on what stock you used, slide wouldn’t be able to be dev’d till Monday so relax, you’d got what you got.

Saying that I loved print with its huge latitude and extra processes until you could look at the final image on a print/process deal, but as you can guess I was always drawn to the slide film, hence why half my archive is missing as (I’m in shock as I write this) you used to send them off to the magazine and they would send them back to you after they’ve scanned them…

Of course they’ll all be sat somewhere or destroyed at this point I imagine??

When you only ever see it digitised now, then I’m not sure any of this matters?

Hmm that’s interesting, can you tell? Shall we do a poll/test?

One of these is a slide and one is a print film scanned and posted for your perusal, Can you tell which one is which is ones which?

Ciao Bella.
