Sit back/Sit Forward

Hello again and welcome to this blog

The last few have been a bit hit and miss mainly in the words as I grappled with a whole host of life *things* that knocked me quite sideways a bit, with the current world situations having quite a profound effect, I’m hating the racism, lack of caring, the hypocrisies in the world and the way that money drives so much of the shit in the world.

I think this is felt by all of us.

So….what to do, guess you can either sit back or sit forward

Not sure which I want to do but I had decided to step back a bit as I processed what is happening and where sbh fits into this world, which I think was ok but now l feel that maybe it’s time to get back on track with this..

I realise that a lot of the point of this blog is to leave a legacy of my work so someone can make sense of them in later years when my brains gone and I cant add anything to the situation so think that will be the focus of them for the foreseeable

It started with despair then it progressed to an anger which led to a hopelessness where I realise what I can actually do and what I can’t do.

The recent 360 Balenciaga show was when these ideas started to crystalise when the designer Demna Gvasalia realised a statement about his thoughts about current world events and what they meant to him, these lines in particular spoke to me:

“…because in a time like this, fashion loses its relevance and its actual right to exist. Fashion Week feels like some kind of an absurdity”

An observed absurdity if you will.

I have noticed an increase in arts bashing that followed and the frankly misogynistic comments about Kim Kardashian that followed her wearing the tape look… horrendous comments that want her to what exactly.

(Then she goes and says the privilege statement along the lines of “we’ve all got the same hours in the day shit”. Which makes it difficult to defend and muddies water and opens up the “whataboutitery” shite.)

Anyone all of this has galvanised me (slightly) to continue on with this little blog as a  push back against this arts bashing and nastiness that is slowly starting to creep in , most likely, as the old saying goes, fuelled by jealousy…

So here I am with another post and another image form the archive to talk about and put something back into this world

I’ve looked for something that I don’t think has been published or not on the net so cast into my pre digital archive (dating digital at starting 2002) so this one is from

Here’s an image from a year in the past that I want to evoke the spirit of to push it into now.

How’s these for a capture of 90’s clubbing pleasure?

It’s from a Foam Party at Paradise Factory in Manc, 25-7-98 think you can tell that by the orange!! Two main thoughts ran through my head when choosing the images mainly hope the person in it doesn’t mind it being shared…maybe I should post a more anonymous one?

What I’ve actually gone with is a small set of the images to show what it was like, archives of this sort with a 24 year gap feel a little intrusive, these images haven’t seen the light of day since they were published…

Stay safe and spread love.

Ciao Bella…
